Our Standards

As Practical as They are Meaningful

If NextLife is to deliver on its brand promise, it must also deliver true sustainability (i.e., no “greenwashing” allowed). So, any product that bears the NextLife name or seal must adhere to certain sustainability standards developed by NextLife and its EHS / sustainability partner, Ciba Expert Services. Only then, can retailers and/or consumers know for sure that their products conform to a stringent set of independently validated eco-standards to ensure quality, safety and a commitment to sustainability and preservation of the environment.

NextLife “Standards of Sustainability” address eight sustainable performance indicators:

  • Integration of sustainable raw materials.
  • Carbon footprint reduction.
  • Comparable quality and performance.
  • Sustainable packaging.
  • Supports the local economy.
  • Alternative energy offsets (e.g., Renewable Energy Credits).
  • Waste management programs / solutions.
  • Participation in community social programs.

Products are awarded points based on their level of performance in each category. A product must score a minimum of 12 points to bear the NextLife Seal of Sustainability.
