Clear or black. Paper or plastic. Recyclable or Biodegradable. To the NextLife Packaging Group it’s all “green.”

While we don’t actually make any disposable packaging, the NextLife Packaging Group (NPG) supports and represents a network of NextLife-certified and licensed sustainable packaging suppliers, all backed by rigorous scientific, quality and performance analysis. NPG is committed to improving the environmental impact of the packaging supply chain without sacrificing profitability or quality. To that end, NPG has assembled packaging industry experts with more than 75 years of collective experience to help this dedicated arm of NextLife build a viable, credible and invaluable sustainable packaging network.

Supply Chain Optimization

Our goal at the NPG is to help network partners increase visibility, become more profitable, and maintain the highest quality, while they continue to make that necessary shift to sustainability. Together with our partners at Ciba Expert Services, the NPG provides licensees with a suite of scientific analysis capabilities, including testing and certification, regulatory knowledge and compliance and lifecycle analysis (LCA). The LCA creates a roadmap for cutting costs and running more efficient operations to achieve the highest standards of sustainability. NextLife is particularly qualified in its approach to effectively communicate the science that proves a partner’s sustainability in a way that’s not only understandable, but engaging, to brand owners and consumers, while being completely devoid of any “greenwashing.” We provide a wide range of creative, marketing and communication services. This includes product and package design and development, advertising and public relations, and traditional and digital media support, as well as eco-labeling.

Sustainable Packaging Alternatives

In packaging specifically, the biggest, near-term trend is clearly the demand to move away from non-sustainable, and even harmful, packaging to packaging that incorporates a significant amount of high-quality post-consumer recycled (PCR) raw materials. The NPG helps brand owners source environmentally smart packaging products made from 25% to 100% PCR materials and converted using energy-efficient systems. Sustainable raw materials employed include PET, HIPS, PP, and PE, transformed into a myriad of packaging products, including clamshells, blister and club packs, containers of all types, lids, plastic boxes and rollstock, for both food contact and non-food contact applications.

Taking The Pressure Off CPG's and Retailers

You don’t need us to tell you how confusing it is out there. Governmental regulations, retailer mandates and cost pressures have created conflicting goals. Our job is to make sure your packaging supply chain is certifiably and cost-effectively “green.” That’s the NPG – a vertically and horizontally integrated, triple LCA certified packaging supply chain. Our network of NextLife-certified sustainable packaging suppliers takes the guess work out of sustainability for the world’s leading CPG’s. Other benefits to CPG’s and retailers include:

  • Price-competitive PCR materials and processes.
  • Innovative and quality packaging.
  • Convenient “one-stop shopping.”
  • Access to other cutting-edge, sustainable packaging solutions (e.g., biopolymers) when ready.
