“Getting Green” is where product development and eco-marketing converge.

NextLife’s “green team” finds that point of convergence and help you communicate it to your consumers.

A cute eco friendly product name and some slick marketing taglines are what some eco marketing firms and green consultants would tell you are necessary to go to market.

At NextLife we know that Getting Green is about so much more than that. When you partner with NextLife, you’re partnering with an established leader in sustainability that will help your organization maximize profitability, grow market share and enhance your competitive advantage, while minimizing your environmental impact.

Our unique ACT approach ensures that your organization is Accountable, Credible, and Transparent as it relates to sustainability initiatives – big or small.

NextLife partnerships all share two common elements: they are tied together by science and verification and backed by the NextLife brand that consumers know and trust. You won’t find a green consultant or eco-marketing firm that can bring all of this to the table and there are certainly no “one-size-fits-all” approaches here. We’ll tailor a plan to meet your organization’s specific needs.

NextLife Services

LifeCycle Assessments (LCA)

When you have an existing product that you want to make greener, the first step in that process is conducting a LifeCycle Assessment, which is part of the ISO 14000 environmental management standards. This cradle-to-grave analysis is the investigation and valuation of the environmental impacts of your product or service. The NextLife LCA will examine all steps in the creation of your product or service and then identify ways to make the product or service more environmentally friendly while reducing production costs and increasing bottom-line profits.

Post-Consumer Grade Resins

NextLife Sustainable Resins are 100% post consumer grade recycled plastic resins. These resins are used by molders and manufacturers nationwide to make hundreds of consumer and commercial plastic products – all of which then become sustainable products themselves. NextLife resins are sold in several grades and color options and can be used to make your products greener.

All NextLife brand licensees are granted access to this pre-certified stream of resin that is of the highest quality and environmental consideration.

Sustainable Packaging

Clear or black. Paper or plastic. Recyclable or Biodegradable. To the NextLife Packaging Group it’s all “green.” While we don’t actually make any disposable packaging, the NextLife Packaging Group (NPG) supports and represents a network of NextLife-certified and licensed sustainable packaging suppliers, all backed by rigorous scientific, quality and performance analysis.

The biggest, near-term trend in packaging is clearly the move away from non-sustainable, and even harmful, packaging to packaging that incorporates a significant amount of high-quality post-consumer recycled (PCR) raw materials. The NPG helps brand owners source environmentally smart packaging products made from 25% to 100% PCR materials and converted using energy-efficient systems. Sustainable raw materials employed include PET, HIPS, PP, and PE, transformed into a myriad of packaging products, including clamshells, blister and club packs, containers of all types, lids, plastic boxes and rollstock, for both food contact and non-food contact applications. Green Product Development and Design

NextLife employs its “Closed –Loop” process for developing green products with a multi-pronged approach resulting in improved product design and sustainability.

Every facet of the product is considered including what the product was in its last life, what it can be in its NextLife and the supply chain utilized to create the product. The results are sustainable products for your organization that are functional, cost effective, environmentally friendly and most of all, appealing to the consumer. Our eco marketing services are designed to ensure maximum impact when your products go to market. Environmental Indexing

Together with our partner, Ciba Expert Services, the global leader in Environmental Health and Safety, NextLife developed an “environmental index” that will educate your consumers about the green attributes and environmentally responsible manufacturing of your product, at the critical point of purchase.

Not to be confused with a simple “eco-label,” NextLife’s proprietary, four-quadrant Index is meant to serve as a quick, transparent way for consumers to see the environmental benefits – from a carbon emissions, water usage, energy consumption and incorporation of recycled/reclaimed materials perspective – of your green products.

Renewable Energy Credits (REC)

Purchasing Renewable Energy credits is a widely accepted way to address the environmental footprint of your electricity consumption and guarantees that the energy you use is added to the power grid from a renewable energy facility which supports the further development of these facilities.

NextLife sells 100% Green-E Certified Wind Power RECs. RECs typically represents the first step towards a greater sustainability program and many times are used in conjunction with other environmental initiatives.

Green Training

While it may be the desire of senior management for your organization to be a greener operation, it’s often difficult to communicate this to the ranks and then is left by the wayside after the initial excitement of going green is over. We will develop a program for you that merits respect from your employees, will save money, and won’t be overlooked when your initial green push is over. Green is also about efficiencies, and we know how to make green pay in the short and long run.
